A commitment that goes back decades
Our commitment to the communities behind the craft goes back decades. In 1995, ICE International’s founder, Frits Janssen, was one of the co initiators of Care & Fair, dedicated to improving the lives of carpet weaving families and their communities in India and Pakistan.
Turning commitment into impact
Today, Care & Fair supports 18 projects providing access to education, training and basic healthcare, while working to eliminate child labour from the carpet industry. With 85% of its funds going directly to projects on the ground and 323 members across the carpet industry, it turns collective commitment into tangible impact.
That commitment to the people and communities behind the craft remains an important part of how ICE works today.
Responsible materials: Carefully considered, from source to space
The materials used in a rug define not only its appearance, but also how it performs and lasts over time. We work primarily with natural materials such as wool and silk, chosen for their longevity, performance and natural character.
